Two weeks ago the 845 Craft Guide began asking the crafty community of Times Herald-Record and Pocono Record readers to send in pictures of their best pumpkin carvings and paintings. Contestants really made the pumpkin their canvas. There were no simple triangles and jagged mouth Jack O’Lanterns here. The ideas flowed like the plentiful pumpkin seeds inside the great big gourd.

From contestants pictures it also appears there are rebel pumpkins among us raging against the humans who cut them. Watch out specifically for the hungry ones that swallow people whole, but spit out the legs. 

Now, it’s up to readers to decide who is the most creative carver. Vote now.

The winner will receive $50. Voting deadline is Oct. 29.
